well most people
wouldn't give you instructions of how to see horrible photos of themselves
but i'm totally selfless or not vain enough or something so if you wanna
see the most horrible and least representative photos of me ever taken,
visit here:
http://brightroom.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=7504&PWD=&BIB=3065
aaahahahah
look at meeeeee
i'm on a blog, my first appearance on a professional-esque blog. look at
this:
uchiblogo.uchicago.edu
i haven't figured out how to put links in these email posts. anyways go
down to the bottom at the article entitled "what women want". also if you
click on the thumbnail photo, it will unveil one of the most awkward
looking photos of me ever. that photo was taken in my office too.
helllo hellllo
sorry i haven't blogged for a while. i am supremely lazy and a little
overwhelmed with moving (although I Haven't done anythingyet). and i
haven't been using the internet, if you can't tell from my typing skills.
i'll write more later when i get my comp back from the shop this evening.

triathlon
well i did the triathlon. i nearly drowned and had a
freak-out-panic-attack in the water. it was terrifying. but i completed
the half mile swim in 27 minutes. ha!
oh well i can do it in the pool much faster but there aren't people
swimming over me and i can see the other side, and i don't freak out, etc.
at any rate, i wasn't the very last person! i ranked 169/171 in my age
group and 3305/3450 overall. and i am damn proud of those incredibly low
ranks. damn proud.
it took me 2.5 hours! hahaha
i'm gonna train harder for the next one, and i'm going to be at least
160/171.
it was really fun though, despite the fact that i was about 80 percent
sure i was going to die during the swim. especially when someone swam over
me. but i did not accept the swim noodle. because i'm rad.
the only place i ever passed anyone was riding uphill on the bike. and i
passed a lot of people doing that. thanks, bloomington!
the fastest person completed the race in 59 minutes, 59 seconds. whoa!
but the important thing is that i can no longer refer to myself as "not
athletic" to get out of exercising/taking care of my body/etc. because i
AM athletic. it just takes me a little bit longer. and i have a steel
spine. hehe
if i can do it, you can do it too. so you should.
i think mike and i are getting that apartment i discussed. it's great.
i'll know for sure in the next couple of days. tata!

update
mike and i went on our vacation. we had a lovely time and hardly argued at
all. except for right before we left and once when i thought mike yelled
at me.
a raccoon broke into our cooler and stole an apple. i don't know who we
were fooling with that apple anyway, but i did polish off a whole box of
nutty bars during the trip. all by myself.
now i'm back at school. and i wish i wasn't. except i'm glad we're not
experiencing this: "In the U.S., a hurricane warning is in effect for the
lower Florida Keys from the Seven Mile Bridge westward to the Dry
Tortugas. A tropical storm warning and hurricane watch have been issued
for the remainder of the Florida Keys east of the Seven Mile Bridge to
Ocean Reef and Florida Bay. A tropical storm warning is also in effect
from Bonita Beach, Fla. along the Gulf and down around eastward to Golden
Beach, Fla. along the Atlantic. A tropical storm watch has been posted
from Longboat Key, Fla. to Bonita Beach, Fla."
yeah, the lower florida keys. that's where we were. a hurricane in a tent
would have been great though.
oh yes, about the tent. i have some pretty funny photos of that tent and
as soon as i get my computer fixed (never) and the internet turned back on
at home (next week), i'll post them. but yeah, every morning, it was
catching the wind like a sail, right off the ocean. and blowing in on us
so that every morning i woke up with a tent smashed up against my face. i
could have suffocated.
but mike and i are thinking of moving to the florida keys when we retire
next year.
and we're looking for a new apartment. here is one we looked at today:
http://chicago.craigslist.org/apa/82883771.html
it's huge. well huge for chicago. four people could fit inside that
bathroom! and cheap! we put in an application, i really hope we get it but
i'm not getting my hopes up. and they allow bunnies so snickers will no
longer have to be a secret. she can live her life in the open. she'll be
so happy.
triathlon is this weekend. i am so incredibly unbelievably nervous. i
don't think i've ever been this nervous in my life. i didn't train nearly
enough but oh well there is nothing i can do about it now. hopefully i
won't make a fool of myself or get injured. i'll let you all know on
monday how it went.
