what? i have a blog?
sometimes i spend a little too much time perusing other people's blogs and complaining to myself that said bloggers did not update and i'm sick of re-reading their old posts that i forget that i also have a blog. this has been brought to my attention by a comment by melissa on mike's blog. thanks, and sorry, melissa.
okay here's what's been going on lately.
i'm sick. yuck. ew hate hate being sick.
my family visited me last weekend. it was fun and we saw some sights of chicago...we went to ed debevics, the art institute (i thought my sister would be a little more impressed by it...poop. i guess it's nearly impossible to impress a 13year old. well she'll be 14 then and we'll try again.), the boys went to the chicago auto show, we went to a giant sporting goods store, we ate pizza at every meal. my siblings and i went to wrigley field. at one point my sister was splayed upon the wall where the giant c is and may even have been kissing it, i'm not sure, and some guy came out of a door. he may have been the fieldkeeper or something i dont know and he just kind of looked at her like "what the hell" and kept walking. it would have been cool, we decided afterwards, if he had said hey kids wanna come in and run the bases? but that didn't happen. then we went to a pet store which had nothing i needed. branson decided my mom would really let him have a mouse. i don't think so. my sister decided my mom would really let her have a ferret. i really don't think so. then we went to another sporting goods store. my brother could not find a cubs hat that was big enough to fit his bulbous head. i'm sorry, cory. haha.
and we saw the lake and my apartment and etc. it was a good weekend. i took my sister into my lab where she was incredibly impressed that i had my *own* desk and computer. she sat there saying hello i am dr. raedy etc. it was really funny. my sister and i had a sister band reunion and it didn't go that great. but we'll get em next time, ky. next time.
we made sister cookies, which are basically chocolate chip cookies without the chips. yummy.

this week i went to see one of my favorite bands mtx. i was sick but i went anyways. it was a lot of fun and i got some pretty good pics. i talked to some people from the band afterwards, got my photo with dr. frank and floated home. the next day i felt totally like crap. but i think it was worth it. mike had a good time too and was impressed by his girlfriend's punk rock ability to squeeze her way up to the front near the stage and steal set lists when it wasn't appropriate. that's what i do. but i had so much fun.
next week i have to buy tons of alcohol. i'm responsible for the wine and cheese on thursday. so i have to spend about 100 bux on wine. and cheese. and whatever else i want. uch. then the prospective grad students are coming next weekend and i have to buy the alcohol for the student party on saturday. which is going to be hundreds of dollars worth of beer and etc. i've decided i'm buying 50 40's of olde english and severeal bottles of wild turkey 101. haha. that's probably grounds for dismissal from this school. i also have to basically run a shuttle from the airport to hyde park. why do i volunteer for things?
