caution: this post contains spoilers to the half blood prince
seriously
turn back now
if you haven't read the book but you want to
or if you're like really really obsessed with it
okay i warned you
here i go
okay so i just finished the book, since my darling sister lent it to me on weds. now, don't get me wrong. i devoured it during every possible moment of free time i had. and even some times that weren't free and seriously this book made me late for shit.
anyway, was it really that surprising to anyone? seriously?
cuz liz posted some link on her blog to a website where everyone was like oh my god jk rowling really messed me up this time i didn't see this coming. wow.
i'm sorry but come on. "a major character is going to die in this book". and the book basically centered a lot around harry and his relationship with dumbledore. and with snape talking to draco's mom all that stuff? i saw it coming a mile away. i'm kind of disappointed.
yeah i know that this is not the last book, and there's another one (and i predict many more after that chaching) and i'm sure that this is gearing up to be all settled in the most awesomest book ever. well maybe not ever. but of the series. and i'm sure it will be surprising, but in my opinion this was the most boring and unsurprising book of the series. but the best written. and the whole thing with the horcruxes and the fake one and oh that's pretty genius. and call me crazy, or nerdy, or evil, but i enjoyed getting to know voldemort better, he's a really great character. and crabbe and goyle as girls whoa! but snape, dumbledore, ginny, draco, ron, hermione, etc, not surprising. also i found all of the insinuation that ginny is a slut for dating (and snogging) a lot of boys to be offensive. and oh at the end it's okay because she was just trying to get over harry or something. whatever jk.
i still liked the book though.
so let's take a vote, who's RAB? (a member of the black family?) is dumbledore dead? (i say no) is snape really a death eater? (i vote no again) do you all hate me for the criticism? or do you love me still because, cmon, you expected it?
