rah rah sis boom bah

mike and i got netflix and i like smacktalking on crappy movies,
which are high on our list of things to check out. so here ya go.

don't rent and watch gus van sant's "last days", based "loosely" on gus
van sant's ideas of kurt cobain's last days, which apparently consisted of him
stumbling around, muttering sub-vocally, walking interminably through the
woods, building a fire (i'm fairly sure cobain *never* built a fire and
probably had no idea how to), and eating cocoa puffs in a disgustingly
filthy kitchen while smoking a cigarette.

my score for this film: SUCK!

if kurt's life was as boring as this movie was, i can understand why he
shot himself in the face. i want that hour and a half of my life back! but
i only have myself to blame, as i should have figured out that i don't
like watching people walk around slowly for two hours after seeing the
snoozefest "elephant". you can call gus van sant "artistic" if you want.
just because something is artistic doesn't mean it can't suck. which is
exactly what this movie does. and i question the "artistic" argument too.

not a movie expert, but i know what bores the hell out of me.

up next: "harold and kumar go to white castle" which mike wanted to see,
and i quote, because he wants to support asian-american actors in
non-stereotypical roles. i think it probably is more because it looks like
it might have boobs in it. but he know's i'll buy that asian-american
crap.
