okay so yeah i'm actually not too nervous about my talk anymore. I used to be
semi-okay with public speaking before I went to grad school. what happened? i'm
like a nervous nellie now.

anyway does anyone else think that footage of candy factories is like the
awesomest thing ever? i love canadian TV, they have a whole channel with just
that, i swear.

i just learned how they make twizzlers!

anyway tonight i am going to the beach to see some fireworks competition or
something. it's an international competition. tonight is italy's fireworks.

anyway i walked around vancouver a bit today, it's pretty cool. it's hard to
tell what a city is like from just the downtown tourist area. so i'll have a
better idea after we walk across town for 45 minutes to get to the beach for
the festival.
