u!s!a! u!s!a!
okay i'm coming back "stateside" or whatever fancy people who travel outside
the country a lot say. i'm doing that tonight. i really enjoyed vancouver, i
had a lot of fun and my talk was really a hit! there were a lot of 'important'
people there. in the sense that they're important to me but you've never heard
of them because you know, you're a normal person with like a life. and
interesting interests. and stuff.
but yeah it was a little daunting at first but then i think i got into it and
did a good job. it would be interesting to see from an outsider's perspective.
i got some compliments but they were from friends so i don't know how much to
believe them. i got some really good questions and interest from some really
smart people who are really admirable and famous. so that was pretty awesome.
oh and the applause. sweet god i live for applause.
now the cathy santonies have the hour long performance on weds. let's hope that
goes welll as well. since last time we stretched it out a L O T and only came
to 55 minutes. i promised to learn some jokes about icecream, but i'm not so
sure taht's going to happen. everyone put some funny jokes in the comments
section. clean ones are better because for some reason i'm picturing a lot of
old ladies sitting out in the sun getting heat stroke, eating ice cream, and
looking really offended.
okay i have to tell you a story about egg salad. once when i was in japan, i
was starving, just really hungry. i was walking around some really metropolitan
place where all the restaurants were really expensive, or maybe they were
already closed, or something, i don't remember. anyway i was starving, really
starving, and feeling sorry for myself or something and i went in a 7-11 and
they had egg salad sandwiches. i bought one, cuz, hey, why not, right? it was
THE SINGLE MOST DELICIOUS sandwich i have EVER eaten in my LIFE. im' not sure
why. it wasn't especially special. there is something about japanese egg salad
on white bread with the crusts removed that just totally rocked my world that
day.
anyway the first day i was here, there is a 7-11 by the hotel, and i went in to
get a 7up diete or something french like that, and i saw it. Egg Salad
Sandwiches. i have been thinking about those damned things since then. even
though i have had some really incredible and awesome food in vancouver (which
has also been really cheap). so i'm getting ready to leave soon and i'm going
over to get one. it better be awesome. i don't know why, but i think it will
be.
